Monday
Into Monday and it's a wet and windy start across many south-eastern areas of England with a strong or near gale force N or NE'ly wind with persistent heavy rain. Elsewhere it is drier and a rather cold start too across more northern and western areas. Through the remainder of Monday more southern and eastern areas will remain particularly cold, wet and windy, drier and brighter, if not sunnier, further north and west. Highs 6C to 12C.

Monday Night
Wet and windy weather will likely lingering across eastern counties of England into Monday night, but elsewhere a minor ridge of high pressure means a dry and settled night with light winds. Another chilly night once again as well across more northern and western areas beneath clear skies with some mist, fog and frost possible, especially in the countryside. Lows 0C to 5C.

Tuesday
Into Tuesday and some residual overnight wet weather may well be present across east and south-east England, this clearing through the day to some temporary drier and brighter conditions. Following from the west though will be yet further rain or showers, initially across W Scotland and Ireland during the afternoon but then spreading eastwards later in the day and overnight. Winds W or NW'ly moderate, backing SW'ly across most areas later and temperatures still chilly for early May, highs 8C to 13C.

Wednesday
During next Wednesday and, at the moment it is likely to be low pressure that continues to dominate across most areas bringing further rain or showers, at times, through the course of the day. It may, however, become somewhat drier and brighter across more southern and western areas of the British Isles later in the day. Still rather windy with W or NW'ly winds and still cool too, highs 8C to 14C at best.
